Natural Dyeing Workshop and Gathering

Natural Dyeing Workshop and Gathering

Duration: 4 hours

Date: Sunday August 11 — 13:00-17:00

Location: Engelstedsgade 39, 2100 København Ø

Join us for this special workshop & gathering in Natural Dyeing!

You will learn how to dye fabric using natural plant material and food waste to create a set of two linen napkins. Making the dye from scratch using materials such as eucalyptus, nettle, avocados, (and more!) we learn to appreciate our otherwise wasted skins, pits and dried leaves and give them new life. The slow natural dyeing process allows for a lovely afternoon with your fellow natural dyers as you sip cool summer drinks, snack on small treats and watch over some gorgeous posts of colour.

Aside from your napkins, you’ll have a chance to sample all of the available colours (4-6 colours), in the end creating the perfect mini swatch/ recipe book.

Learn the tips and tricks of prepping your material, tying the fabric to create patterns and getting a lovely colour. Walk away with some gorgeous Linen Tales Napkins, and the new found knowledge and excitement to dye whatever you can get your hands on next!

Breakdown of what’s included:

  • 2 stone-washed linen napkins from Linen Tales

  • 1 Notebook and pen for your recipe notes and swatches

  • 16+ mini swatches in cotton, linen and silk fabrics to sample the colours

  • Materials for dyeing provided

  • Drinks and treats

  • lovely afternoon with other dyers connecting though making

*Please note the 4-hour time frame is a guide we will try to stick to, those going for pastel colours may find they are done very quickly compared to those who are going for much darker tones. No matter your style, come, enjoy some drinks and the company, and take it easy on this slow and calming Sunday afternoon.
